According to the official FB page of CM Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, A memorandum of understanding has been with the world’s Top Search Giant Google Inc. and Punjab Government to boost up the cooperation in the I.T sector.
CM’s Official FB Page mentions that,
“Another milestone towards bridging the technological gap: Government of Punjab signed a memorandum with Google Inc. The company will start Street View Special Collects to provide access to the historical and tourist attractions of Punjab on Internet. This will create worldwide awareness about the rich heritage of our province and therefore bring our softer image to the world.”
Memorandum was signed by Tourism Secretary Dr. Allah Bakhsh Malik and William Fitzgerald of Google Inc in the presence of Punjab’s CM Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Provincial Finance Minister Kamran Michael, Planning and Development Chairman, Irrigation Secretary, Information Technology Board Chairman and representatives from Google Inc.
What we Got from MoU:
The MoU allows Google Street View to capture and upload images of locations part of the cultural heritage of Punjab. The 360-degree street-level imagery allows people to absorb the cultural richness of Punjab from anywhere on the globe as long as they have an internet connection.
Under the agreement Google Inc. will provide technical assistance to the Arfa Software Technology Park. The internet Search giant will provide online access to the historical and tourist attractions of the province to promote awareness about the rich heritage of the Punjab.
This positive step will help tourists to know about the Historical places of Pakistan and can improve the international tourists’ visits to Pakistan.
This step can also help the I.T experts under developing interactive web portals for the local culture and as a citizen of Pakistan they can take part in promoting +ve image of Pakistan.
